En el año 1996 Samuel Bernal Espinoza compra un terreno ubicado en la esquina de las calles Victoria con Retamo, en pleno centro de Valparaíso, con el propósito de levantar un edificio de cuatro pisos el cual albergará el gran O’Higgins Hotel y Restaurant, heredero de toda la tradición y calidad del ya centenario Bar y restaurant O’Higgins de Almirante Barroso.

En este nuevo restaurant, además de las exquisitas preparaciones y atención que lo caracteriza, destaca su gran mural de dos paredes “Alborada Porteña” que fomentó y quiso ser un aporte a la cultura porteña, encargando el desafío, donde se plasma la historia patrimonial de Valparaíso, al pintor Guillermo Valdivia.
PROCESO
Es a comienzos del ’97 cuando llega la maquinaria y se inicia la obra, la que culmina en 1999, fecha en que empiezan a afinarse los detalles para inaugurar esta moderna sucursal del O’Higgins el día 11 de marzo de 2000, entregando así un hermoso edificio para el sector Almendral de Valparaíso
